Straight answers on licensing, fees, compliance, and onboarding for public adjusters evaluating chapter leadership.
A Chapter President leads ACI operations in a defined local territory — receiving priority claim distribution through the Response Intelligence Network, building and leading a team of licensed adjusters, and operating on shared infrastructure (automated claims intake, AI lead routing, and back-office support) instead of building it alone.
The roles are a ladder. A Chapter President leads a single local territory and the agents within it. A Regional Vice President (RVP) sits above that — building and leading multiple Chapter Presidents across a region, with oversight dashboards, rotation metrics, and recruiting tools. Chapter President is the territory-level leadership role; RVP is the regional role that develops and supports those leaders. Advancement is production-based.
A traditional independent adjuster sources their own claims, builds their own systems, and starts from zero in every market. An ACI territory holder receives priority claim distribution within a defined market through the Response Intelligence Network — with automated claims intake, AI lead routing, and back-office support already built. The difference is infrastructure: one adjuster hunts, the other harvests.
Territories are defined by state and market and are claimed one at a time. Availability changes as chapters are established, so an open territory is not guaranteed to stay open. The application process covers which markets are currently available and how territory rights work within the network.
You need a state license to adjust claims — that is the law and it is non-negotiable. You do not need one to begin the conversation: the Workforce Academy is a structured pipeline that takes committed candidates from unlicensed to state-licensed through pre-licensing preparation and exam readiness. Already-licensed adjusters can onboard directly.
Licensing is state-specific, but many states offer reciprocal licensing. The Workforce Academy prepares licensed adjusters for reciprocal licensing so leadership is not permanently capped at one state line. Multi-territory leadership is a production-based path, not an entry-level arrangement.
Every credential is yours — earned, state-issued, and portable. The Academy supports you in obtaining and maintaining licensure, but the license belongs to you.
Compensation is a transparent, ledgered split between the field (the licensed professional who works the claim) and the house (the infrastructure that detects, intakes, routes, and supports it). Every figure is visible to the penny in your portal — statements and your 1099 live in one place. Specific terms are reviewed with you during onboarding so you see exactly how a claim flows before you commit.
Territory is framed as network distribution rights earned through the platform, not a purchased franchise. The application and onboarding conversation walk through any applicable terms in plain language — there are no hidden numbers on this page because the specifics are reviewed directly with you.
Team builders earn overrides on the production of the licensed professionals they recruit, train, and lead — turning individual output into organizational growth. Overrides are ledgered in the same transparent commission system, and advancement is production-based.
The platform's compliance layer verifies legal contact hours and consent before any outreach leaves the system, and every claim carries an auditable record. In this industry integrity is a competitive advantage, so the guardrails are built into the software rather than left to individual discretion.
Unified Public Advocacy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is policyholder education and advocacy — the consumer-trust standard-bearer of the network. ACI is the professional, for-profit adjusting enterprise where licensed careers are built. Members serve the mission through the nonprofit's advocacy work and build their business through the professional side, with clean lines between the two.
After you apply, the process moves through a conversation about available territories, licensing status and any Academy support you need, a review of how the platform and commission structure work, and credential setup for your portal. Licensed adjusters can move into live claim flow quickly; candidates who need licensing start in the Academy pipeline.
Already-licensed adjusters can onboard directly into claim flow once their portal and territory are set up. Candidates completing licensing begin receiving routed claims once they are state-licensed and activated in the network.
